Learn how to create a countdown that occupies the left tile on the screen.

What is a Break?

A Break is a countdown that occupies the left tile on the screen. This feature is used to give students a visual on how much time they have until they are tardy.

How to Create a Break

Navigate to Message portal:

At the top, click on the "Breaks" tab:

Click "Add" to start creating a new Break:

This is the message that will be shown above the countdown. As you're building your Break, a preview will be built for you. This will give you a visual on what your Break will look like on the screen when it plays:

You can create separate Breaks that only show on the Cafeteria screens and their message can be specific for that area. For example, "Lunch ending in".

Start time

This is when the left tile on the screen starts playing the Break and begins counting down to the End time.

End time

This is when the left tile on the screen returns back to showing Left content and no longer displays the Break.

By days

This is where you schedule what days of the week you want the Break to play on. There is also a "Special date" option that will allow you to schedule a Break for a specific day.

Background color

Select the background color of the Break. We provide 20 unique options for you to pick from:

Lastly, choose what screens you would like this Break to play on and click "Done". 🎉

You will need to create a separate Break for each period you would like to have a countdown for. If you have 8 periods, you will need to create 8 Breaks.
