Navigate to Content Portal

Inside your Scholastic Network dashboard, open your Toolbox and navigate to your Content portal:

Click Upload Content:

Select the type of content you would like to upload:

Types of Content

Landscape content occupies the largest tile on the screen and accepts photo and video.

Left content occupies the left tile on the screen and is conventionally used for branding.

Bottom Text content occupies the very bottom tile of the 3-tile screen format. This is raw text that you type out or paste.

Social feed content is either an RSS feed or a Twitter feed and it occupies the bottom tile on the 3-tile screen format.

For this example, I will select Landscape as my content type.

Choose Your Group

If you are apart of multiple groups, they will all be listed when you click on the dropdown. This is where you decide who you are uploading content for.

Upload or Use Creative

You can upload an image or video that you have saved on your computer, or you can create something on-site via our Creative Portal. Because this tutorial is on how to upload content, I will select Upload.

After clicking Upload, your system's file manager will open automatically. You can choose a single photo, or multiple photos at once. Once they are 'queued', you can rename some of the images if you choose to.

You also have an Edit option. Clicking this will take your image to our Creative Portal and you can further customize it. This is something we'll cover in a later tutorial.

Choose Screens

This flow will be the same for anything you upload. It will ask you which screens you want to add this content to, and the schedule for this piece of content.

I want to add these pieces of content to just my "Main Entry" screen:

Choose Schedule

This is where you determine when this piece(s) of content will play on the screens.

Select Periods

If your group has set custom periods inside of your portal, they will show up here for you to schedule your content to.

Full day option is selected by default and means that this piece of content will play for the entirety of the day.

Setting up custom periods for your group allows you to better organize your broadcast network. You can mark out important times of the school day and easily assign content to them. Ex: You might create a "Morning Announcements" period from 8:00 - 8:15 AM and assign specific content to only run during that time slot.

Display always

This option is selected by default and means this piece of content will play everyday on the screens I selected.

Unchecking Display always will allow you to then schedule your content with a start date, and an end date:

Upload the Content

Once the screens are selected, and the schedule is set, there's only one thing left to do — click "Done" and it will upload your content. 🎉
